Michelle Malone-Chiles began her Irish dance
training at the age of eight under All-Ireland champion Ron Plummer,
A.D.C.R.G. and then under World Champion Liam Harney, A.D.C.R.G.

In
her competitive career, Michelle won the Western U.S. regional Oireachtas in solos eight times. In international competition, she
placed as high as fifth in solos at the North American
Championships, and recalled several times at the World
Championships, placing as high as fourteenth.

Not only successful in
solos, Michelle won regional and North American titles in ceili,
figure choreography, and drama. Her dance career is not limited to
competition. She has toured with Liam Harney’s Celticfusion in Chile,
Germany, and the U.S. She has also performed for the former
President of Ireland, Mary Robinson. Additionally, Michelle has
participated in numerous local shows such as the Redlands Bowl,
Nations of San Diego International Dance Festival, and the San Diego
Symphony. Michelle has even danced onstage with the Irish musical
group The Chieftains!

Michelle feels she has a calling to teach, and
she has the credentials to support that calling. She holds a
certification from An Coimisiun le Rinci Gaelacha to teach Irish
dance (T.C.R.G.).

After obtaining a bachelors degree in Biology, she
earned a California state teaching credential and a Masters degree
in education. In addition to teaching Irish dance, she has taught
high school science and math full time for the last ten years.
